Jet Setters: Flying the Clear Blue Skies

Ok so the summer time is pretty much vacation time. This is when everyone wants to jetset and go to a sunny beach in the caribbean or some where peaceful in Europe away from the hustle and bussle. With that being said you need to be prepared for the annoying checks at the airport, the air conditioned plane and so forth. If you have a long flight you want to be a comfortable as possible. People confuse comfort with sweats, a large t-shirt, and some sneakers. Ok if that's your "thing" then by all means "do you," but you can be relaxed and comfortable and stylish at the same time :-)

I love this look because it is casual and chic. The scarf and fedora adds that extra umph to the look. You the sandals are cute and easy to maneuver through a busy airport and also easy enough to slide on and off.

just... Street Style
This look is a bit more dressy but you can downplay with less jewelry. It is just a simple white tank and some linen pants. Linen is very comfortable in my opinon. They are roomy and allows room to breath and relax. I would add a pashmina or cardigan for the air conditioned plane in my carry-on
the summer when girls become beauties
This look is airport cool also because it is a simple tank with a pair of shorts and a cardigan. When flying simple is better. You can add a pair of shades to this look and you will definitely have that movie star appeal.
Casual

So here is the GoodyBag travel checklist:
1. Comfortable pants or a dress is optional...I love simple jersey/cotton dresses
2. Flats...cute sandals that can be put on as easy as they can be taken off or a pair of skippies
3. Cardigan or scarf for the cool air
4. Tank tops or layering t-shirts
5. Shades (optional) I prefer shades...it adds mystery lol
6. In your purse and/or carry-on you should have hand sanitizer, lotion, chapstik, lipgloss, mirror, makeup(optional)
7. a CHARGED iPod
8. Book or magazine
9. Laptop (optional)

The airport does have runways but not for you to strut your stuff like you are in Paris. You can be cute, stylish, and comfortable without the 4in heels. So keep the stilletos and club dresses in your suitcase or in your closet. Oh yeah keep the pajama pants (which should be worn at home) oversized sweatshirts, slippers, flip flops and socks, oversized t-shirts at home remember your clothes sometimes reflect who you are.

Happy Travels :-)

A Summer's Night Out

Going out tonight & feeling kinda clueless on how to start getting ready? Take note, here's a checklist for the perfect night out this Summer.

Super size Your Hair
The trick is spritzing on hairspray Before you curl the hair. Then wind one-inch sections around a curling iron. Tip I just learned: In sections, curl backwards for that I-just left -the- salon- look. Brush out gently & hairspray again , (a little).
Show Some Skin
Rather than using your everyday moisturizer, use one with light- diffusing particles & maybe a bronzer. Remember don't hide the radiance- opt for a touchable up do!
Make A Bold Statement
Really wing out your out liner-always dramatic. Create a cat eye that will last. Don't go crazy with luminescent foundation, powder or moisturizer if your wearing colorful make-up. " Brights look prettier against a more matte face."

Smell Unforgettable
You want your scent to stand out without being the female equivalent of the cologned- up guy you can whiff across the club. Dab just a little on your wrists. Don't rub your wrists too hard together when applying perfume, that creates a lot of heat, which can make it wear off faster. Then mist in the air & walk through; scent clings to hair longer than it does to skin.

Do Bronze the eyes
In an earlier post this week we talked about bronzing the eyes... apply a bronzy shadow from your lash line to the brow bone, fading it as you go. Then smudge a gunmetal gray pencil on your upper lash line & add mascara. Don't do shimmery lips at the same time.

Do's & Don't's of Going Bare

1.Pick A Favorite Body Part To Accentuate
Look at pictures of yourself to determine what you want as your signature "reveal." I.e our First Lady, Michelle Obama signature reveal are her arms, nicely sculpted & toned. Remember not to neglect to balance that reveal with more demure everything else.
2. Stick With What Your Comfortable In
When sporting bare skin, everyone knows confidence is the best accessory. So don't wear strapless tops that won't stay up, or minis that won't stay down.
3.Address Underwear
Be sure to own at least one strapless or convertable bra that allows you to show off your bare back or shoulders. Unless it's a special piece that's meant to be seen, don't go for any visible lingerie. Go strapless, or keep the straps under wraps.

4. Check Out Your Toes
Point blank sandals need a pedi. Don't forget your heels, moisturize!

5. Know What Works & Doesn't Work For Work
Considering you can show a little arms & a bit of leg in the office if the overall effect is sleek, simple & chic. Under no circumstance think that what goes for night goes for day. It doesn't.

6. Keep Everything In Place
Move around in tiny clothes when you try them on to make sure nothing falls out... cleavage should be in front, never in the back.

Cowgirl from the Hood

Bring the wild wild west to the City. Here are a few ideas of how to bring the Cowgirl to the city for summer fun!

Untitled

I'm a cowgirl, on a steel horse I ride

Something as simple as a hat, bag, shoe, or other accessories can change the dynamic of your look. Don't be afraid stick with western or Native American inspired pieces and earth tones like brown, camel, and toffee, you will look so good no one will even notice the horse.
