Jay-Z: Blueprint 3 and Run This Town video

This is the track listing for "Blueprint 3"

This album is going to be crazy! His features are ridiculous. Jay has spent quite some time crafting this album so I know it is going to be another classic! He is not even concerned with record sales either, having his album drop on a Friday. Well I'll wait patiently for
September 11, 2009 to come. Until then check the video for

"Run This Town" featuring Kanye West and Rihanna

I'm glad we are getting back to making videos instead of just using a green screen and butt naked women. It takes a Veteran to bring back real music and not conform to what's trendy. This is why he is the best!

Guilty Pleasure

Guilty Pleasure- something one considers pleasing despite feeling bad about enjoying it.
I am sad to say what my current guilty pleasure is.

Did you figure it out? Yessssss it is "LOL SMILEY FACE" Trey Songz feat. Gucci Mane and Souljah Boy. *embarrassed*

When I first heard this song I was so disappointed in Trey. I said how could he be apart of such trash, but then the same day that I heard it I went home singing it. I tried so hard to hate this song, but the catchy hook and beat lured me in. Don't get me wrong, the song is very clever, but This is so not music! How do you make a song about emoticons, text/web acronyms, and TwitPics? "Go to my page and follow if you got a body like a coke bottle" I am not a fan of Gucci Mane at all and so that made it even worse. I will not address Deandre (Souljah Boy). When I hear the song in my car, I turn it up so loud and if I'm at a red light I'm seriously dancing...smh. What has happened to me? What has happened to the music industry? We all have guilty pleasures so don't judge me LOL :-)

I guess anything goes now, but I better not hear a song about SMH or TTYL Then I would flip.

Daddy's Girls: Episode 3 Recap

As you all may know, here at HGB, we love the Simmons Sisters. Vanessa and Angela are true examples of what and HGB Go-Getter is. This episode of Daddy's Girls touched on many topics such as respect, dependency, and consideration. I really enjoyed this episode, although it was very scripted, the show was still relatable...except for camping...I've never gone, my ideas of camping have been tainted thanks to Jason, Michael Myers, and the other weirdo killers.
Since Danielle, Angela's best friend from childhood, has moved into their home in LA its been nothing but drama. She is very inconsiderate and lacks respect for other people's property and space. Vanessa's toothpaste was minimal compared to her having her dog eat cheetos off of Jessica's bed...smh. Although she wasn't welcomed from the start, we will not play the blame game for who's fault it was for her leaving (her own). I think Danielle's "visit" taught valuable lessons, just because you are friends doesn't mean you can live with each other. I'm pretty sure their friendship will be stronger if she was back in New York, because she was beginning to cause tension between everyone in the house. Jessica was a little rude when she told her to sleep on the couch though...that was funny. Danielle also taught Angela that she needs to be more responsible and speak up instead of being deceitful and going behind people's back. I think if Angela was upfront and Danielle was more considerate she would've fit right in with the girls.

Angela and Vanessa's friend Lynn (not pictured) convinced the girls to go camping. Now Angela and Vanessa are truly Hollywood!!! Who packs a crimping iron and flat iron when they go camping in the woods? I was with Jessica like "where are you going to plug up your hair tools?" I just shook my head. Where's the bathroom? you have a plethora of trees to choose from. Oh, and who fries fish with a stick over an open flame? lol The cell phone scene was hilarious because I would be just like them, especially Angela with her salad and tent. This shows how dependant this generation is on technology. Some people are just not cut out for the frontier. Kudos to the people who actually go camping and love the great outdoors, but that's just not my cup of tea. Overall, I thought it was a pretty good show.

R. Keri Baaaaaby!

I think Trey Songz remix of D.O.A. was a great wake-up call for Kells!

This is a hot track! This is the R. Kelly that I know...not the Zoro with the gimmicks...smh

When The Money Goes

Fabolous and Jay-Z team up for the "When The Money Goes" video

Two of my favorite rappers. This was a real video. It had a story line that actually fit the song. This is definitely one of my favorite tracks on "Loso's Way" The song captures the essence of what true love and friendship is. "When the money goes, will the honey's stay. When the gray clouds replace the sunny days." We all face many trials and tribulations in life, but you know who is really down for you and has your back when you reach a road block. You see who will stick it out with you and help you get over that obstacle and you will see the person that will try to hold you back and prevent you from prevailing. This song goes beyond money....

I'm not sure if their beginning conversation was natural or scripted but this line right here... "Sometimes the best way to see a person is when you're not looking at them. If you look at them they are gonna be on their best behavior..." Man if that isn't the truth I don't know what is. Simple things like that show why Jay-Z is the best in the rap game.

What are your thoughts?

Not Your Average Shoe

We often get random e-mails with the craziest things, and I came across an e-mail about one of my favorite things...SHOES!!!!! I found this video in which "regular" women wear the latest styles from the runways during Fashion Week. As we all know runway shoes are not meant for the mean streets of New York, Philly, Newark or any other city in the country. So a few women tried walking in these 'ARCHITECTURAL HEELS' and it was hilarious!

I wonder if women are going to actually try to wear these heels. They are not practical at all!!! I can just see myself in the emergency room with broken ankles! Certain things should just be left on the runway. Kudos to the models who strut their stuff down the catwalk in those shoes.

This just looks painful lol

I can see someone really wearing this boot...lol...This is bag I take to the grocery store smh

This looks more like some type of bondage contraption rather than a shoe

Is this from Saw? or is it a prototype of some robotic High Heel?

Where would my toes go?

*Blank Stare* They look like they itch. Maybe the new version of UGGS

Cartons from the Chinese restaurant?

I actually like Giraffes, just not on my feet

I just don't understand these. Are they heel and ankle covers? smh

Creativity at its best!

America's Next Top Model-Cycle 13

On September 9, 2009 Cycle 13 of America's Next Top Model will air on the CW Network. This cycle as you may know is the "petite cycle" 5'7" and under. I wanted to audition being that I am 5'4" but I said if I make it, I'm not quitting my job so what's the point. I need security...it's a recession lol. Anyway the photos of the girls selected for this season are out and I just hope they BRING IT and represent for the vertically challenged.

There will be some changes to the show. Tyra has decided not to replace Paulina because of "budgetary problems" so there will be a guest judge every week and the final decision will be made by Tyra, Miss J, and Nigel. I can't wait for this season to start.

In Other News: Weekend Recap

The beginning of this post will not be easy on the eyes.

Bey's romper is super cute but the hair...the hair...this is not diva status...I know you are working hard on the tour and all but the matted down weave is not a good look. She's making it a little difficult for me to STAN for her...smh
Was this taking in 1993? This must be a Harlem look because this is so not Brooklyn.
The socks? Really? I love the hoodie!

:-) Eye Candy :-) Trey Songz

The Carters: New Music and Videos

The Carters must be one of the hardest working couples in the entertainment industry. I love that no matter how busy they get they always make a way to spend QT together. Some couples don't have that balance and they do so maybe that's why the've been going so strong for so long. Other couples take note! Mrs. Carter recently released a new single "Poison" and Jay released a snippet of "Run this Town" check the videos below

I love this track from Bey. She really knows how to connect with her female audience and I'm pretty sure a lot of us have been introduced and fallen for some "Poison" good thing I didn't die! lol
OK so when the video drops I'm just waiting for more of Jay-Z and the free masons and the illuminati, devil worshiping, and NWO talk. People kill me with this. I just sit back and laugh and enjoy the music.
