Cracking a joke will defuse potential awkwardness & keep the vibe positive.

Reply:"Haven't we all?"
This conveys that you've moved on. If you haven't had your heart broken, tell him "I've been hurt in the past for sure, but I'm lucky that I've never been crushed."
