The DKNY Spring 2009 presentation was prefaced by a video tribute to the city that bore her label. The NYC neon lights—subway car trains and taxicabs, crosswalks and manhole covers, the Brooklyn Bridge and the Statue of Liberty—a love letter of sorts to Gotham, inspirations for the city inspired line. "The collection has a new level of sophistication to it. The DKNY woman has to think about working," says Donna Karan perfectly summing up her colorful & polished collection of day -to- evening suits , dresses, trousers & jumpsuits. A retro "Mad Men" vibe gave the clothes an undercurrent of sex appeal.
